The Rules:

1. The rules of play shall be the current rules of the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, the Local Rules of Beauchief Golf Club and the Regulations of Sheffield City Council.

2. It is the duty of all members to know the Etiquette and Rules of Golf, and to report as soon as possible to the Committee any irregularities of play by other Members in Competitions.

3. Annual subscriptions are due on the 1st December each year, and no member is eligible to enter any domestic Competition, after 31st January of the following year, until his Subscription has been paid.

4. With the exception of Scratch events, entries for Major Competitions will not be accepted unless the Member has returned at least four Beauchief Competition cards since the 1st of January of the previous year. Such cards must be for completed rounds. No returns are not acceptable.
[Whenever possible, a list of those who have returned four Cards is displayed on the Notice Board]

5. Before commencing play in any domestic stroke play Competition in which members form their own groups, competitors must ensure that their name has been entered on the Competition Entry List. All cards must be marked by a fellow member with a current handicap and returned to the Committee as soon as possible upon completion of play.

6. With the exception of the Scratch Medal, when further rounds will be played until a result is obtained, ties in Stroke Play Competitions will be decided by the best score over the last 18 holes, 9 holes, 6 holes, 3 holes or 1 hole whichever greater number gives a result. If this does not produce a result, the same procedure will be applied to each preceding 9 holes. If a result is still not obtained the winner will be decided by lot.

7. Stroke Play Competitions (except where otherwise specified by the Committee) may be played in two, three or four ball groups.

8. In Knock Out Match Play Competitions, if a match is all square after playing the stipulated number of rounds it must be continued (from the first tee) until a hole is won.

9. No Member shall be allowed to win more than one main prize in any one Club Competition.

10. On any day of a Stroke Play Competition, a competitor shall not practise on the Competition Course except within areas specified by the Committee.

11. The minimum number of Competitors to constitute a bona fide Monthly Medal shall be 15.

12. The Committee shall arrange all Club Competitions and have the power to make such regulations and temporary regulations which it deems to be desirable. The Committee may revise conditions, entry fees and handicap limits if it deems advisable and it reserves the right to deal with any exigencies which may arise.

13. In 36 Hole Major Stroke-Play Competitions buggies may not be used.

All Committee decisions will be final.

Penalty for breach of Rule 3, 5, 7 or 10 above is DISQUALIFICATION.
