"You Know Martin Blake, He's the one that looks like all of the Rolling Stones rolled into one"

"I have been involved on the music scene around Herefordshire for a long time and the purpose of this website is to bring the music that I am involved with to a wider audience. In these days of computer generated music,  I am holding a torch for the traditional musician with his non-cyber instrument....."

Keep music LIVE!

Martin Blake has been playing 'Fingerpickin' Good Guitar' for a fair number of years now, solo, or as part of a number of musical collaborations from a duo up to a six piece. He is heavily influenced by the country blues masters such as his namesake, Blind Blake, Big Bill Broonzy, Rev. Gary Davis and his hero, Mississippi John Hurt. His musical interests do not stop there, however, as Urban Blues, Country, Cajun, Zydeco, Bluegrass & Old Timey, Dixieland, Baroque, Rock'n'Roll and Celtic music all feature in his repertoire. From Bach to Bo Diddley, The Memphis Jug Band to Nirvana with a spattering of self-penned material, Martin Blake can put together a band that is just right for most of your musical needs...

Here are a few solo tracks, for which you will need Real One player, which you can download for free from www.real.com:

Diddy Wah Diddy      Key to the Highway Blues

Tamp 'em up Solid

These following two tracks were recorded live at Montgomery Town Hall on St. Valentine's day, 2003
