Welcome to the public website of the Online Guild of Weavers, Spinners, and Dyers. Founded in May of 2002, our Guild was originally established to meet the needs of fibre and textile artists unable to be involved in their local guilds. Since that time, our membership has grown to over 300, representing a truly worldwide community with members from the UK, Eire, the Isle of Man, France, Germany, Spain, The Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, Luxembourg, the USA, Canada, the Falkland Islands, New Zealand, Australia, Trinidad, the Channel Islands, South Africa, Portugal and Sweden.

Through the Internet, members of all skill levels meet for fibre related discussions and the opportunity to learn and share new skills and techniques. By utilising a private members-only website, we are able to participate in ongoing fibre and textile related discussions, access a virtual library of extensive fibre and textile related topics and resources, and enjoy online programmes and workshops.

Our programme schedule offers a wide variety of opportunities both to learn and to teach. Past programmes have included kumihimo, triloom weaving, silk spinning, tapestry weaving, freeform crochet, indigo dyeing, felting, sewing with handwovens, and several rare breed challenges.

The Online Guild is affiliated to the UK Association of Guilds of Weavers, Spinners, and Dyers. Membership includes an annual subscription to the Association‘s quarterly publication, "The Journal."

We welcome new members and invite you to consider joining our Guild. Learn more of what membership in the Online Guild can offer you.
